Themes of prevention for 15-25 -year-olds are a cultural challenge that require meticulous work in terms of design and content structure. A close and productive collaboration with the Tête à Tête teams led to a stage design that questioned the production of genders, the different stages in the normalisation of individuals and its daily impact in terms of violence, marginalisation and discrimination.
What if we were programmed from birth?
“La Fabrique à Sexes” (The Sex Factory) was an immersive, symbolic approach based on the idea of a human production chain. The exhibition covered the life-cycle of the human “product” from birth to quality control.
The machines and engineering embodied the preventive message in an interactive, playful way. The showcase, a powerful expression of stage design, denounced and materialised sexist constraints through colour codes. The design was gendered to reveal and illustrate the content.
